Good luck out there. You just missed us by a few weeks. Used to live 5 miles from there, and my brother and possible future brother in law fish it quite frequently. Can be a hit and miss lake. Some days you just get runs, others are a dead sea. We pulled out one barely legal (18") the other weekend when it was -30 degrees and one northern the next day. But last weekend the future bro-in-law lost the "biggest walleye of his life" when it got stuck 1/4 way up the hole, the hook pulled and it slipped back in. If you happen to come across a black Chevy Colorado near a shanty on a trailer, give a holler to my brother. Name's Pat. But its a big lake, so...

Since you asked, here is what I know, and it isn't much. 1) be careful off the point on the north side of the lake pointing into the "deep" hole, there is an aerator there, not sure if it effects the ice this time of year, but it is there. 2) if looking for panfish, there are cribs dropped in all along the western shore (10-15' if I remember correctly). 3) Lots of trucks will be fishing near/around the island in the northwest corner for walleye and then the far east end over the large flat for walleye and northern. 4) The most defined structure is off and around the penninsula and islands in the middle offering rocks/boulders in between the penninsula and the western side of the various islands. The key is to find the structure, or just get lucky. The lake is bigger than it looks and the changes in depth are very gradual.

Trav, you just gave us a lot to get started with. Thanks. I owe you some Mutt. Watch this weekend for a report.

yep, I'm familiar with the aerators of Maple point. We used to drift in the deep area by the aerators for crappie years ago.
